RJCALOW PHOTOGRAPHY

Photographer and maker, I engage with landscapes by examining their cultural misconceptions, nature-human relationships, and the ambivalent responses produced when we cannot comprehend them. .

Most of my fieldwork involves working in the peripheries of urban and rural territories, specifically in transitional areas known as "edgelands". Ambiguous territories where self-seeding autonomous nature intersects with the discarded remnants of modern-day society among the layers of human narratives that have accumulated into the land over time.

I'm currently...
Working on my darkroom setup and printing new work.
Making work with a TLR camera and medium format.
Having a break from Instagram by replacing it with a physical sketchbook/journal.
